My itinerary to Korea! Itinerary ke Korea! – First Day @ Busan from Seoul

Hi Ladies and Gentlemen,

Are you looking for an itinerary to Korea? I can share mine with you! But first, let me share with you what was my plan and which parts of Korea I went to.

I went to Korea on November 8, until November 14, 2017. It was during Autumn season. It wasn’t my first time in Korea because I went to Korea for the first time on November 9, until November 15, 2016. Yes, I went there around the same date because I would like to celebrate Peppero Day which fell on 11.11. Those dates were also very close to the first snow date. Do stay in Seoul from November 17 to November 21. Usually, it is when the first snowfall happen in Seoul.

Last year, I took a flight from KLIA2 to Incheon Airport, Seoul using AirAsia service. Well, it also same for the year of 2016. 😛 I found it convenient and cheaper.

We arrived in Incheon at 2.50pm. Our journey was starting from Incheon Airport. Then, we took KTX directly from the airport to Busan using KTX train. We bought a KORAIL pass for foreigners. You can check the types and prices of Korail pass here: http://www.letskorail.com/ebizbf/EbizBfKrPassAbout.do

I would highly recommend you to buy the ticket from these websites. It would be more convenient to purchase using your debit or credit card and your currency.

  1. KKDay  – Minimum purchase at least 2 pax (Check out for a KKday promo code)
  2. Klook – Single tix is available (Make sure to check out a Klook promo code before purchase) RECOMMENDED! – Click here to find all Klook promo codes.
  3. Trazy – Single tix is available (Find a Trazy discount code for extra savings!)
  4. KorealTrip  – Only in USD$

We chose ‘2 Day Select Pass’. It was because we were traveling from Incheon to Busan. We were taking a bus from Busan to Jeonju. Then, we continued our journey from Jeonju to Busan via KTX. So, the Select pass allowed us to choose which date we would like to travel.

Reminder: You will collect the ticket at the counter and need to decide all timing for your journey upon collection. A passport and printed -Out KORAIL pass must be possessed to make a reservation at stations. Refer the KTX timetable here (You can check train schedules and purchase tickets up to 1 month in advance using the KORAIL website.)

We collected our KTX pass at the Incheon airport. Unfortunately, I didn’t capture the redeem counter area. Oh, I found this in the Google Image:

We received a pass like this. The pass was a proof when you would like to redeem a printed ticket for your seats and departure timing. We received a pass like this. The pass was a proof when you would like to redeem a ticket for your seat and timing. We also received this printed ticket. You will be required to redeem at each station that you will depart. Please redeem it a day before your departure date to secure your seat and time availability. We did that on our trip from Jeonju to Busan.

And, Voila! We were on our way to Busan! It took us about 3-4 hours to arrive. We were able to see beautiful scenery before it turned dark. Sleep would be the best remedy to recharge the energy.

We arrived in Busan around 10 pm. We checked in to our guesthouse that we booked using Booking.com. The guesthouse’s name is K-Guesthouse Premium Busan 1. Book on any guesthouses available in the website with this link here and you can get USD$15 back on your credit card! The place is nearby the Busan station. It just 5 minutes walk. Plus, we chose a room instead of a traveler bed. Since the price is not much different.

Our initial plan after arriving in Busan was to go to Jagalchi Market to have our dinner. But, it was too late since we got delayed during the check-in process. Thus, we tried to roaming around the area nearby. Since it was the first time for my partner to arrive in Korea, an introduction to Banana Milk is a must!

Later, we found a place where we can eat. It is kind difficult to find a halal restaurant in the area. Thus, we chose a place where we can enjoy the Muslim-Friendly food. Since both of us can read hangeul, reading a menu would not be a problem! We ordered Kimchi Jiggae. We requested with the ajumma to make sure no meat in our meal including the side dishes. How to say no meat in Korean? You can try speak or show them these sentences :

고기는넣지 마세요 – Kogi-nun nuh-ji maseyo. No meat, please.
고기는 빼주세요. kogi-nun bbae-juseyo. Please remove the meat.
고기 안 든것 있어요? Kogi an dun-got isseoyo? Do you have anything without meat? And do not forget to say Kamsahamida 감사함니다 with a smile!

The best part when you dine-in in any restaurants in Korea is they served drinking water for free. In Malaysia, we will be charged for a glass of it from RM0.50 up to RM1.50. What a shame! As you can see here, they even sterilized those cups.

After we fueled our body with good food, we were walking around to try some street food. In Korea, street food is the must thing to do! We did try hotteok and bungeo bbang. The area we went didn’t have lots of street food available.

We ended our night by getting back to our guesthouse. We had a good night sleep to start our journey for the next day!
